These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of middlemoneyguy.com, its calculators, worksheets and The Middle Memo newsletter (together, the “Site”). The Site is operated by Middle Money Guy (“we”, “us”). By using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Site.
1. Education, not financial advice
Everything on the Site, including articles, videos, calculators, worksheets and emails, is for general educational purposes only. It is not personalized financial, investment, tax, legal, insurance or real estate advice, and it does not create an advisor-client relationship. We are not registered investment advisers, broker-dealers, tax professionals or attorneys.
Your situation is your own. Before making financial decisions, consider talking to a licensed professional who knows your circumstances. You are solely responsible for the decisions you make.
2. Calculators and examples
Our calculators produce estimates based on the numbers you enter and on simplified assumptions that are explained on each calculator page. Real results depend on factors the calculators may not include, such as taxes, fees, lender requirements, insurance, inflation and market returns, which can change at any time. Examples in articles use illustrative numbers and characters; they are not predictions or guarantees. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
The calculators run in your browser. The numbers you type are not sent to us or stored by us.
3. Accuracy of information
We work to keep information accurate and up to date, but rules, rates, limits and laws change. We don’t guarantee that the Site is complete, current or error-free, and we may update or remove content at any time without notice. If you spot an error, please tell us.
4. The Middle Memo and emails
When you sign up for The Middle Memo, request a worksheet or ask us to email a calculator, you agree to receive those emails. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email. How we handle your information is described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Your questions and replies
We love hearing from readers. If you send us a question, comment or story (for example by replying to an email), you give us permission to use it, edited and without your name or identifying details, in articles, newsletters or videos, such as an “Ask the Money Guy” answer. Please don’t send sensitive personal information such as account numbers or Social Security numbers.
6. Affiliate links and sponsors
Some links on the Site are affiliate or sponsored links, and we may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. Products and services offered by third parties are their responsibility, not ours. See our Affiliate & Advertising Disclosure.
7. Third-party sites
The Site links to other websites, including YouTube and retailers. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content, products, terms or privacy practices.
8. Our content
The Site’s articles, calculators, graphics, logos, characters, videos and design belong to Middle Money Guy or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may read, use and share the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes, and you’re welcome to link to any page or quote a short excerpt with a link back. You may not copy, republish, sell or create derivative works from substantial parts of the Site without our written permission.
9. Acceptable use
Don’t misuse the Site. For example, don’t try to break, overload or gain unauthorized access to it; don’t scrape it in bulk in a way that burdens our servers; don’t use it for anything unlawful; and don’t submit content that is unlawful, abusive or infringes anyone’s rights.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Middle Money Guy will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any financial losses, arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Site or any information, calculator result or link on it. You agree to indemnify and hold Middle Money Guy harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the Site or your violation of these Terms.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We’ll change the date at the top of this page when we do. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of your place of residence requires otherwise.
