This policy explains what information Middle Money Guy (“we”, “us”) collects on middlemoneyguy.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Your email address, and your first name if you give it, when you sign up for The Middle Memo, request a worksheet or ask us to email you a calculator. We also note which topic or freebie you signed up for, so we send you the emails that match.
- Email activity, such as whether an email was opened or a link was clicked, so we can see what’s useful and stop sending what isn’t.
- Basic technical data that every website receives, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. Our hosting and security providers process this to keep the site running and protected.
The calculators run entirely in your browser. The numbers you type into a calculator are not sent to us or stored.
How we use it
- To send you The Middle Memo and the emails you asked for.
- To answer you when you reply to an email.
- To understand which content is helpful and improve the site.
We do not sell your personal information.
Services we use
- Cloudflare delivers and protects the website.
- Google Analytics measures site usage (see below).
- Amazon Web Services hosts our content system and email list.
- Mautic (run on our own server) manages the email list, and Mailgun delivers the emails.
- YouTube (Google) hosts our videos. Video thumbnails on this site load from YouTube’s servers, and clicking a video takes you to YouTube, where Google’s privacy policy applies.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: which pages people read, which calculators they use, and roughly where visitors come from. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and processes data such as your IP address, device and pages viewed; it does not tell us who you are. Learn how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and opt out of Google Analytics on any site with Google’s opt-out browser add-on.

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, analytics cookies are turned off by default: Google receives only anonymous, cookieless signals.
We do not show advertising cookies today. If we add Google AdSense in the future, Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites, and visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland will be asked for consent first. You can manage personalized ads at adssettings.google.com. We will update this policy before that happens.
